I made a log cabin quilt many years ago and it is still in mint condition. I tried to make it similar to your steps but mine took much longer because i didnt turn my first two small blocks in the right direction when I started chain stitching the blocks. Thank you for that tip on turning the first two blocks the right direction today. I made all of my blocks into a log cabin block. I didnt have the focus fabric to separate the logs. I think I will make your quilt on the diagonal and watch the tutorial as I go. Thank you for your exceptional teaching. It is very helpful. You probably wont believe this. I have been quilting for over 50 years and I still love learning a new way to accomplish my goal. Buying one of Matt's cut package is the way to go. Thank you. Jodie

The black is nice, but I think I would pick either the blue or orange.

If the blocks were turned on point, and alternated with a solid, they would look like feathers. Or even have an Art Deco vibe.

I just finished all of my half square triangles (7/4/24). What if you don’t have room to lay out the entire quilt before sewing? Is there a way to know which pieces go next to each other? HELP!!
